New on Ancestry–Victoria, Australia, Rate Books

Now THIS will keep me busy! The Rate Books collection is from the Public Record Office of Victoria, but with the advantages of Ancestry’s search features (which I think are actually pretty good).

Victoria, Australia, Rate Books, 1855-1963

Something I would like to see is an easy way to see all the record sets on Ancestry that are sourced from a particular archive. eg a quick way to see what else they have from the Public Record Office of Australia. I know of a few PROV collections on there – I wonder what else I’m missing? Do you know of a way?

    1. It seems like every time I think I'm catching up on processing information I've gathered something new and shiny appears. I'm not complaining!!!

  2. If you go to Ancestry's Card Catalogue, and type Public Record Office Victoria in the Keywords field, it comes up with a list of 7 collections:

Victoria, Australia, Selected Trial Brief and Correspondence Registers and Other Images, 1837-1993
Victoria, Australia, Index to Naturalisation Certificates, 1851-1928
Victoria, Australia, Deserter, Discharged, and Prisoner Crew Lists, 1852-1925
Victoria, Australia, Lunatic Estates and Register, 1867-1906
    Victoria, Australia, Rate Books, 1855-1963
Camberwell and Waverley, Australia, Rate Books, 1857-1927

    1. Thanks Lois. I think the problem was that I included the word "of" when I searched. My search only returned three, which I knew wasn't right.
